THE MAN WHO DECODED Stone Age BRITAIN
I came across Tom Brooks via Rogue Male and BTW Rogue Male features some ancient history himself so he's well worth following. Here’s a pertinent posting: roguemale.org/holy-science-britain/
So, one of his blogs features the work of Tom Brooks who plotted the geometry of the ancient sites in Britain starting at Silbury Hill. And it seems all the ancient mounds could be used to navigate around the country easily because they used a system of isosceles triangles. His theory also was that they were not defensive places but put in place after the Ice Age to keep people's feet dry because the land became wet and swampy, and devoid of trees. And of course you could use them to orientate towards the next point on the horizon. Interesting theory and lots of good diagrams. The main point of intersection is Silbury Hill mentioned by W&B in The Trojan War, Ch. 17 I think.

Scroll down to the 5 links to Youtube videos which were filmed by Geoff Ward (link below).
Brooks wrote 3 books (see the Wiki) : "The Hand of Man", Prehistoric Geometry of Britain", and "Seeing Around Corners. Geometry in Stone Age Britain - The Proof". All out of print.

I’m trying to get more info but thought I’d post in case anyone else has heard of Tom Brooks or has his books.
Since Ross mentioned the link with constellations and the mounds in SE Wales I think this is relevant. It's just frustrating not to be able to get hold of the books of Tom Brooks now.
