Bonjour,
Today I bought a few books from a brilliant secondhand bookshop in Bloomsbury, London. It’s called “Skoob books” it’s been there since 1979 so it’s not new. I recommend! I brilliant history section with many old historical books. Pre 1920’s some of them! I am surprised our Hanoverian over lords hadn’t ordered them burnt! I have bought many books about British history pretty much any I find pre the 1920s. Alas I’m here to talk about other books right now though.........I’m pretty new to Arthur research so I buy any books I find about him (a see the pattern ;-)). Obviously I have the Wilson and Blackett books but I would like to know if you’ve heard of these following books!? - “King Arthur And The Grail” by Richard Cavendish. 1980 or “King Arthur In Legend And History” by Richard Barber 1961. Has anyone read these?
I also found a book (not Arthur related) but it’s intrigued me! A poem written in circa 778 called “The Song Of Roland.” The poem is about the last stand of Roland at Roncesvals. Roland is a contemporary of Charlemagne.
I’m yet to read any of the books mentioned (literally purchased this afternoon!) but I wondered if any of you have heard of any of them?
Thank you for reading. BPC
